Invitation for Bids
Installation of a Source Capture Emergency Vehicle Exhaust Fume Removal System
Mashpee Fire Substation

The Town of Mashpee, acting through the Board of Selectmen, the Awarding Authority, is seeking sealed bids for the provision and all designated labor, equipment and materials and any other work associated with this project for the installation of a source capture emergency vehicle exhaust fume removal system at the Mashpee Fire Substation, in accordance with bidding documents prepared by the Town of Mashpee.  The project site is located at the Mashpee Fire Substation, 101 Red Brook Road, Mashpee, MA 02649.

Specifications and bid documents may be obtained at the office of the Town Manager, Mashpee Town Hall, 16 Great Neck Road North, Mashpee, MA 02649, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:30 A.M. and 4:30 P.M., by calling (508) 539-1400.  Inquiries relative to this Invitation for Bids should be directed to René J. Read, Assistant Town Manager at the number listed above.  All inquiries relative to the installation of a source capture emergency vehicle exhaust fume removal system at the Mashpee Fire Substation should be directed to the project architect, Deborah Durland at (508) 993-6567.  Prospective bidders are urged to visit prior to bid submittal and should schedule visits through Ernie Virgilio, Clerk of the Works, at (508) 958-2476.

Bidding procedures shall be in accordance with the latest edition of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149 and Chapter 30B as applicable.  All bids shall be accompanied by bid deposits in form of a bid bond, cash, or certified check, or a treasurer’s or cashier’s check issued by a responsible bank or trust company payable to the Town of Mashpee in compliance with Chapter 149 Section 44B.  The amount of bid deposits shall be 5% of the value of the bid submitted.

If applicable, addenda issued during the bidding period will be forwarded to all bidders who have obtained bidding documents.  Receipt of addenda shall be acknowledged in the designated space on the Form of Bid.

Complete bid proposals must be submitted in duplicate in sealed envelopes clearly marked “INSTALLATION OF A SOURCE CAPTURE EMERGENCY VEHICLE EXHAUST FUME REMOVAL SYSTEM - MASHPEE FIRE SUBSTATION.”  Bid proposals will be received at the Office of the Town Manager until Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at 2:00 p.m., at which time they will be opened publicly.  Bids received after the specified time will not be considered and faxed bid proposals will not be accepted.  Delivery of bid proposals will be at the expense of the proposer.  Any and all damages that may occur due to packaging, shipping or timely arrival will be the sole responsibility of the bidder.  The Town of Mashpee reserves the right to reject any bids if deemed to be in the best interest of the Town.  All proposals will be taken under consideration for award of contract at a later date.
