The following materials are also accepted for recycling at the Transfer Station in addition to the single stream system (in the appropriate location: click here for map):
BOOKS - Clean and dry paperback or hardcover. Place in box.
TIRES -
Passenger tires, off rim $2.00 each
Passenger tires, on rim $5.00 each
Truck tires (17"-26"), off rim $10.00 each
Truck tires, on rim $15.00 each
OIL FILTERS and USED OIL - Non-contaminated waste motor oil and oil-gas mixture only.
BATTERIES - Lead acid automotive batteries as well as NiCd or other rechargeable batteries.
ANTI-FREEZE - Green only
SCRAP METAL - Separate metal from other materials (plastic, wood, etc.)
ELECTRONICS - Televisions, computers, microwaves, VCRs.
MERCURY PRODUCTS - Flourescent light bulbs, thermometers, thermostats, and switches. Place in Universal Waste Shed.
YARD WASTE - Leaves, grass clippings and shrub trimmings. Home Composting Bins may be purchased at the DPW for $30.00
BRUSH - Not accepted. Brush may be brought directly to the following locations:
