Mashpee Triad Projects & Programs
Neighborhood Crime Watch
Triad volunteers, in conjunction with the Mashpee Police Department and Barnstable County Sheriff's Office, establish a watch regarding the safety of their areas of concern.
File of Life
The file of life is a plastic magnetic folder in which important medical information, including medications, allergies, doctors, and emergency contacts may be contained.
Emergency personnel are trained to look for these on refrigerator doors for fast response in emergencies. Wallet sized cards are also available.
Home Security Surveys
Members trained by police and fire personnel will undertake a home survey at your request, to make suggestions ensuring your safety.
Alzheimer's/Dementia
Triad will register those who have Alzheimer's/Dementia, as requested by their caregiver. The registration is offered through the National Safe Return and the Mashpee Police programs. This information will help find those who might wander and become lost.
Speed Survey Team
The purpose of the Speed Survey Team is to make motorists aware of the maximum speed limits on Mashpee roadways. The Triad car will have a "Miles Per Hour" display panel connected to a radar unit. The motorist will be able to read his own speed. The monitoring team will record the speed and license plate info of each passing car. This information will be used by the police department to identify problem roadways and persistent speed limit violators.
Handicapped Parking
Vehicles are determined to be illegally parked by taking pictures, front and rear, to show lack of handicapped parking identification. This information is then reported to the police department. Triad also reports handicapped parking spaces and signs that are not in compliance with the regulations.
