4-H Babysitting Course
For boys and girls grades 3 - 6.   Learn to become a responsible babysitter.  Sessions include:  child safety, first aid emergencies, feeding, stages of child development, discipline, entertaining, and the business of babysitting.   Certificates and I.D. cards are issued upon successful completion of the course.  You must attend all 7 sessions to receive a certificate of completion.

Hockey Without Ice!
For boys and girls grades 1 - 3.  Experience the fun of hockey in the KCC Gym.  Students will participate in both floor hockey and scooter hockey.  Basics of hockey rules, skills, and game play will be addressed.  Students should wear sneakers, and bring a water bottle and snack to have before we play.

Obstacle Course Class
For grades 3 - 6.  This class offers high energy and endurance for running around.   A great expenditure of energy.  We’ll be running through cones, jumping with ropes, eye-hand coordination drills, and lots of movement and great fun at the same time.

ChessKids  
For grades 3 - 6.  Studies carried out in many countries have repeatedly shown that the systematic study of chess leads to improvement in children's educational attainment in both Math and English.  Once you start playing the game, you will be hard pressed to stop!  Learn how to open a game, move pawns, bishops and castles, then on to “checkmate”  and the end game!  Younger grades will concentrate on learning the game and playing.  Upper grades will run more as a club and will include instruction, learning notation, playing multiple games, and opening and closing games.

Play Soccer’s newest program has fast become a favorite for Recreation Departments, parents and children alike! These short fun filled sessions are perfect to introduce youngsters to sports and exercise while improving the bond between parent and child. Each session will involve the tots learning the soccer basics through fun games and soccer adventures. Our professional coaches are specialist in making these sessions exceptionally enjoyable while introducing new skills.

Youth Sailing Lessons
Ages 9 - 17.  Youth Sailing lessons will be offered this spring.  Our small group combines both beginner and intermediate levels.  Now is the time to think about signing up your son or daughter, grandson or granddaughter.  Classes will be taught by a US Sailing Certified Instructor aboard our American Daysailer 15.   Each session will consist of classroom instruction and on-the-water drills taught to US Sailing Standards.

Purpose:  To give students success with fundamental skills.  Swimmers will learn to submerge entire head, blow bubbles, pick up a submerged object in shallow water; show comfort in a non-supported front float and front glide; roll from front to back; tread water; swim on front for 15 feet using any combination of arm and leg motions; swim on side.

Wii Tourney
For ages 8 - 14.  Hey all you rock stars!  Join us for a day of Wii on the big screen!  Bring your band for a Rock Band/Guitar Hero Tourney.  If you don’t have a band, make one!  (Your band can have 2-4 player)  If you come alone, we can get you a band!  Bring your racing gloves, too!  We’ll be all geared up for a Mario Cart tourney as well!!
And just when you thought life was perfect, there will be an amazingly fun yo-yo / STOMP workshop.  So if you like yo-yo’s or you like the idea of making beats with your body, come!
Hosting the tournament will be “Ouch”.  If you haven’t heard of him, don’t worry, you’ll know him well by the time you leave!

Big Sister, Little Sister Basketball
For girls Grades K - 6.
Mashpee High School Varsity Coach, Mr. Brian Hyde & Asst. Coach, Mark Balestracci along with the Girls Varsity Basketball Team would like to provide an opportunity for young girls to have fun and learn the sport of basketball and/or build on their current skills.  Girls will be paired up w/ varsity team players in this 4-session clinic.   This is a non-competitive, fun program, which will teach age appropriate skills and drills.  Adjustable Easy-Up Youth Goals are used to lower hoops.   Please wear comfortable, sneakers and bring a bottle of water.

The Treasure Time Story Book Theatre
For Grades 1 - 4.  The students in this class will work for 8 weeks to make a play out of a picture book. They will help to make scenery, costumes and learn lines, songs and choreography. Requirements are that they must like singing and acting and be committed. A final performance will be held in the KC Coombs Cafeteria for families, friends and Kids Cub kids.  Limited to 10 students.  Performance March 24.

Manga
For Grades K - 2.    If you’ve got a passion for Pokeman, avid for Avatar, or if you’re nuts about Narato, you’ll be mad about manga!  Wicked Cool Manga give the manga maniac eight different human characters to develop and draw using Japanese-style conventions.  You’ll get the skills you need to invent and draw your own characters and put them in your own stories.

Forensic Detectives
For Grades K - 2.    Think you’ve got what it takes to solve a crime?  Then join us as we use actual investigation methods to evaluate a crime scene and look for clues.  We’ll dust for fingerprints, examine and identify mysterious samples, and assemble evidence to solve a baked goods larcency.  This Wicked Cool For Kids program was created by a former Massachusetts State Police forensic scientist turned educator!

Rocket Camp
For Grades K & up.  Come learn the story of rockets from their beginning in Ancient China to the present space program.  Build your own rocket!  Learn how they work and fly!  These rockets can fly 1,000 feet or higher and are reusable.  Parents, family and friends are invited to the launch.

I love horses.  This hour long feeling safe and gentle approach will get you and your child feeling comfortable around horses.  Each class will include a pony ride and horse/pony grooming.  Parents do not need to have experience with horses.
